    American Maternity Centers

American maternity centers can be traced back to more than twenty years ago. Due to historical and political reasons, pregnant women from Taiwan were among the first to come to the United States to give birth. In the Los Angeles area, there were people who specifically provided maternity services for women from Taiwan who came to the US to give birth, and related industries also emerged. For example, services included domestic help, transportation for shopping, and assistance with passport applications.

Currently, maternity centers are located in various cities across the United States, including New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, with the highest concentration in the Los Angeles area. This is because Los Angeles has a pleasant climate year-round and is relatively closer to China and other Far Eastern regions in terms of flight distance. More importantly, the Los Angeles area is also a major hub for the Asian community. These maternity centers provide comprehensive services for mothers from mainland China who come to the United States to give birth, including accommodation, transportation, hospital liaison, and assistance with document processing.

Link: Koreans also travel to the US to give birth

It is reported that pregnant women traveling to the United States to give birth are not only Chinese, but also Koreans, Indians, and Russians. Some Korean parents travel to the United States to give birth so that their children can be exempt from military service and enjoy preferential treatment in education. According to the Los Angeles Times, the number of maternity centers in Los Angeles's "Koreatown" that cater to Korean pregnant women is no less than those run by Chinese people. However, many of these maternity centers are not officially registered, making it difficult to determine the exact number.
