In Los Angeles, the decision of whether to hire a postpartum caregiver or stay at a postpartum care center after giving birth has always been a difficult one.  Currently, most births are among those born in the 1990s and 2000s, with their parents mostly from the 1970s. While relying on both sets of parents is an option, their own maternity benefits should be sufficient to cover the costs of childbirth and postpartum care.

With over 10 years of experience in the industry, including starting and then leaving a postpartum care center business, I've now founded my own postpartum caregiver company. Let me objectively discuss the brand premium of postpartum care centers costing over $100,000.  These are unaffordable for most families. Let's break down the costs: the daily room rate for a detached house, food costs (at most $230/day), and the caregiver's salary ($10,000/month, actually for 28 days).

Hotel-style centers might have lower costs due to reduced energy expenses (electricity, water, gas), and cleaning fees. Mid-range centers (50,000 to 80,000 USD) have less brand premium; the costs are similar, but the controllable budget lies in caregiver salaries, food costs, and reduced consumables.  Lower-end centers (below 50,000 USD) are not worth discussing; they attract with low prices but then upsell aggressively, exploiting potential needs and engaging in secondary sales tactics.

In the current market, what are the risks of booking a confinement nanny six months in advance, and how many preferred rooms are available for immediate occupancy?  This isn't because I run a confinement nanny agency and am biased towards live-in nannies. Live-in nannies generally have lower risks; you can interview 2 to 3 nannies, pay a small deposit, and there's virtually no risk of them running away, unless the nanny is replaced. I would also suggest considering the risk of a replacement nanny. If the interviewed nanny is unable to start the job, you can claim compensation. As a domestic service and confinement nanny company, we certainly hope to find a suitable nanny in one go to reduce replacement costs.

Similarly, compared to confinement centers costing less than 50,000 RMB, let's consider the cost of ingredients alone – over $100 per day. However, with a confinement nanny, 50,000 RMB can cover 2 to 3 months, and you can choose ingredients you trust and that are healthy.  There are also many excellent nannies who are great cooks.

I hope this information is helpful to everyone.
